1) IF - Not a particularly sexy function, but it's the backbone of so many excel sheets and models.
2) VLOOKUP - Indispensible. Irreplacable. Incredible. the way this function allows you to weave information together is a thing of beauty.
3) MID - Awesome at slicing up text strings based on your criteria
4) TRIM - Simple but necessary. gets rid of spaces.
5) BINOMDIST - puts the "fun" back into function. allows you to analyze data of binary events.
